Countering the spread of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is one of the key priorities of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. In Russia, the Government Directive dated 21 December 2020 is in force, under which a comprehensive set of measures to combat HIV infection has been adopted.
The strategy aims to ensure that 95% of people living with HIV know their status. To achieve the goal of increasing testing coverage, screening programmes are being actively expanded, including through the use of rapid testing.
